My chldren are all different,
Like the fingers on my hand.
No one of them is the same,
So eachone I try to understand.

Their needs and wants,
Their happiness and sorrow.
I try to meet them all,
Then see what's next tomorrow.

Someday I'll be old and feable,
But I'll try to still help out.
They will then be the parent,
And find out what it's all about.

So stay strong my children.
Your mother has done her job.
I hope that I have taught you well,
So your children will never fail.

((((Mary))))

Im working so hard to get thin and healthy so that I can remain in excellent shape as I age. I hate the thought of having my kids looking after me. I want to be old as hell and honery as hell.....and healthy and then just drop off suddenly lol...

friends I am with you all the way, Maria. When my kids were teenagers I would tell them that when they all left the house, I was going to sell everything and buy a cabin in the mountains and become a hermit, so that I would never be a burden to them.
They would look and me and ask, "but mom what if a bear kills you and eats you?" I would tell them that if that was the will of God, then who are we to question it. They always seemed to understand my responses. I guess it's because they know how much I love them and how I would never intentionally harm my own life or theirs. Thank you Maria for this wonderful post. I love you

Mary, I feel that it does qualify you as a mommy, you have now switched rolls, you are the mother and she is your child. I think that it is wonderful when we can help our mothers for everything that they have done for us. Everyday that I visit with my mother, it hurts to see how she battles with her inability to do things for herself. It really bothers her that she has to ask for help. I just keep telling her that it is my way of thanking her for giving birth to me and taking such good care of me. I keep telling her also that not even with all the money in the world could I pay her for all the hardship she went through for us. Since she was mom and dad. hug
